Feline Fix By 5 Statement
The "Feline Fix by Five" initiative is a national campaign advocating for the spaying or neutering of cats by five months of age. This recommendation is based on the understanding that cats can reach sexual maturity as early as four months, leading to unintended pregnancies and contributing to the overpopulation of cats. By performing these procedures before five months, the campaign aims to prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of cats entering shelters.

Leading veterinary organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and the Association of Shelter Veterinarians (ASV), endorse this practice.
